After years of close friendship and creative collaboration, Waldo Fernandez and Kelly Styne have joined forces in launching a unique and socially conscious new clothing line.

Their inaugural collection brings together two of the most time-honored wardrobe staples: luxurious cashmere and the classic simple tee. With a natural rolled hem, contrast stitching and a back seam, The Waldo Kelly Cashmere Tee is perfect fit on its own, or as a layering piece.

Waldo Fernandez emigrated to the United States from his homeland of Cuba at the age of 15. After studying at UCLA's world famous School of Architecture and Design, Fernandez was hired by Academy Award winning set-designer Walter Scott at 20th Century Fox. There, his inspired custom furniture commissions caught the attention of filmmakers and celebrities alike - many who later became his clients. From Brad Grey to Brad Pitt, from Toby Maguire to Keanu Reeves, Hollywood's most discerning and stylish figures have relied on Fernandez to transform their living spaces.

Fernandez's view of fashion is quite similar to his approach to design - "It's all about the cut," he says. "The line and the quality of construction determine if a piece is successful, both in furniture and fashion."

Shaker Heights, Ohio native Kelly Styne moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry. Over the course of her career in entertainment, Styne spearheaded development and production for several of Hollywood's biggest producers and directors, including Leonard Goldberg and Sam Raimi. She later brought her keen eye for spotting talent and trends to the publishing world, currently as a Contributing Editor for GQ Magazine.

Inspired by a drive past Camp Pendleton and its motto "Honor Courage and Commitment" Styne embarked on a journey to find a non-political message that would resonate with people who face a variety of challenges in an increasingly chaotic world. With that in mind, the message "Peace is Courageous" was born. This simple yet strong statement is as relevant globally as it is locally: encouraging people to make a conscious choice to embrace peace over conflict in their daily lives.

The words "Peace is Courageous" will grace four of the seven pieces in the first Waldo Kelly collection, in the form of a hand-sewn cashmere applique. A portion of the proceeds of the Waldo Kelly "Peace is Courageous" line will be donated to the Veterans Revitalization Program. Future collections will feature different words of inspiration and will support a different charitable organization.

Rounding out the line is the original solid-color Waldo Kelly tee in both short and long sleeve styles. The understated luxury of these cashmere tees is sure to make them a wardrobe staple.
